Rohkeaa peliä A-tyttöjen Nurmon turnauksessa

Lauantaina 15.10.

Courageous game in the A-girls Nurmo tournament

On Saturday the 15th of October, Ploki’s A-girls played their first tournament of the season, and it was in Nurmo. This is how team captain Nea Mäkelä reports the stages of the tournament.

The first game was against Team AK. In the first set, we played an even game with the opponent, but at the end of the set, the opponent was better. There weren’t many successes in the second set, but towards the end of the set we improved our own communication and got the game rolling. However, the opponent was better, and the game ended 2–0 (25–20, 25–15).

After the first game, we were able to fill up on the delicious ham and potato casserole, so we started the second game with new energy.

The second game was against Nurmon Jymy. In the first round, we experienced a nasty shock when one of our great general players got injured. However, we were able to gather our own focus on the game, and managed to perform well. In the second set as well, we played a brave and hard game, but we made a few passing errors too many. The game ended 2–0 for Nurmo (25–11, 25–16).

The third game was against Lapuan Virkiä right after the second game. Even though the going was already a bit tired at this point, we still played a versatile and brave game. We succeeded in attacking well. We won the first set 25–22. We started the second set with the same good attitude and had fun. The game was also in line with the feeling, we had great successes and the passes stayed on the screen. We also won the second set 25–10.

The starting points for the tournament were not very good, but we still played well as a team. We also saw surprises on the field, when the libero and passer were in the roles of general players. This time our reception and defense succeeded quite well. The attacking game also improved and diversified throughout the day.
